Gearhound — legal
Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 22, 2026
This policy explains how Gearhound uses cookies and similar local-storage technologies on gearhound.org.
What we use today
- Strictly-necessary cookies. When you sign in, our authentication provider (Supabase) sets a session cookie so you stay logged in and your account is secure. The Service can’t function without it, so it doesn’t require consent.
- Preferences (local storage). We store small flags in your browser — for example, that you dismissed the cookie notice, and any unsaved watch draft on the home page. These stay on your device and aren’t used for tracking.
What we don’t use
We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If we add privacy- friendly analytics or any non-essential cookies in the future, we’ll update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
Third parties
If you start a subscription checkout, Stripe may set cookies on its own pages to process payment securely and prevent fraud. Those cookies are governed by Stripe’s policies.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Note that blocking the strictly- necessary session cookie will prevent you from staying signed in.
